DAILY FILE – Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, has revealed that non payment of pensions to pensioners which accumulated to months was beyond him as a governor.
Speaking on Radio Benue ‘Phone in Programme’ on Monday, Governor Ortom, said:”I feel the pains of the pensioners but it’s beyond me. Although, I inherited the challenge but with the PENCOM Law now domesticated in the state, the problem will be solved permanently and anybody who takes over from me will not have this challenge again.”
Recall that, some concerned pensioners have so far spent five days in the rain and under the sun at Benue state Government House protesting non payment of their pensions for 25 months.
