DAILY FILE – Governor Samuel Ortom of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has dismantled his Ex-godfather, Sen.George Akume’s political influence in Benue state as he won re-election defeating Hon.Emmanuel Jime of All Progressive Congress, APC.
Recall that, governor Ortom’s sponsored senatorial candidate for Benue B, Hon.Orkev Emmanuel had defeated Akume in the just concluded National Assembly polls. Akume’s loyalists were banking on Jime to win but the Benue voters fed with herdsmen propaganda voted the incumbent governor whom they called the ‘Defender of Benue Valley’
After Benue state rerun governorship poll, here is the 2019 final guber election result, APC has 345,155, while PDP scored 434,473 with
difference of 89,318. The Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, is set to announce the final results officially.
