ABUJA – Late SUPOL Ibrahim Danladi, former ADC to Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has been buried amidst tears by friends, family members and sympathisers.
Danladi’s funeral, was attended by governor Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna state government functionaries and other sympathisers.
On his facebook page,Samuel Aruwan, Spokesperson of the governor wrote :”Our boss, the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai paying tribute to Supol Ibrahim Danladi at RCCG Newlife Assembly, Phase 3 Junction, Kubwa and also at Gudu Cemetery for the interment. May Ibrahim’s soul Rest In Peace. Ameen”
In his tribute entitled ‘Ibrahim Was An Emerging Leader’, Governor El-Rufai said :”I speak with a great sense of loss today. Ibrahim was an emerging leader, with a great future ahead of him. Death has taken him too early, but we remember fondly that he was a good man. He was hard-working, loyal and kind”
Like many relationships that turn out great, I met Ibrahim in the course of duty. He was in the police detachment posted to my office after I was appointed Minister of the FCT in 2003. He later became the Chief Security Officer. His sense of hard work and initiative was obvious, and I greatly appreciated the loyal service he provided.
After my service in the the FCT, I had difficulties with the Umaru Yar’Adua government which was determined to tar my name and deny me liberty. It was a season of desertion by fair-weather friends. It was also a period of intense solidarity by loyal friends and also from unexpected corners. In those years of adversity, Ibrahim kept in touch and checked on my family from time to time. It was a very touching gesture from such a young man.
Ibrahim contributed to our campaign in 2015. When we took office, he joined us in Kaduna, first as Chief Security Officer and later as my ADC. It was about a year after we took office when I first learnt that Ibrahim was from Kebbi State, and also a Christian. He was surprised that I did not know either fact earlier, but where a person comes from and who he worships does not matter to me. What matters is who a person is! He had by his own conduct demonstrated that he was a good person, and that was all that mattered. Ibrahim was later promoted to Superintendent of Police, and therefore of seniority higher than that of ADC to a governor. Not willing to lose Ibrahim’s professionalism and loyalty, we appointed him the Principal Staff Officer to the Governor.
Our gratitude for his service is immense. Consistent with our policy since the death of our Commissioner of Health and Education, Professor Andrew Nok, we will set up a trust to finance the education of his three children. That is the least we can do for someone who did his best in the service of Nigeria in general, and Kaduna State in particular.
May the gentle soul of SP Ibrahim Danladi rest in perfect peace” the governor added.
